A little peace of mind

May 13, 2012 in Lifestyle, Meditate, Mind, Wellness by
I can't remember where I found this little passage, but all I know is that it is definitely a nice reminder! Especially on those days when you can't help but feel frustrated, helpless and alone. Being still with your thoughts, feeling, emotions and simply acknowledging they are there is therapy in itself. Coming to realise that you are never alone and that somehow, someway we are all connected to the universe even if we do feel disconnected.

Alternative Movement

May 7, 2012 in Movement, Yoga by

...Like alternative music, alternative movement is about experiencing something less mainstream, less conventional or 'non conformist' shall I say. Alternative therapies and alternative medicine are for instance becoming more popular as we discover flaws in one dimensional perspectives and practices. The multi-dimensional world that is unfolding before our very eyes is allowing us to now see beyond conventional wisdom and feel more confident with exploring possibilities, a.k.a our options, be it healing disease through raw foods, or natural healing practices to balance energy and chakras, reiki, EFT, irridology, numerology to but name a few.

E.F.T

It's so funny how life does that! Let me explain. About 10-12 years ago when I was going through 'eating and weight stuff'. Not enough of it and totally under weight, I stumbled across a book called Five Simple Steps to Emotional Healing. I read the book and understood the concept and theories explained but I never actively practiced the technique they were describing to me at the time. Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT. Looking back I was probably too young, definitely inexperienced or possibly too ignorant to really maintain the discipline of performing these techniques on myself.

Intuitive Movement

April 23, 2012 in Meditate, Mind, Motivation, Movement, Yoga by

Yesterday I woke up and my body was feeling pretty stiff, especially in my lower thoracic (middle back). I didn't have a whole lot of energy so the thought of my scheduled run was quickly aborted. I knew I had to do something... So I put on a nice meditation CD I have and just laid there listening to a 15 minute track of Tibetan singing bowls and other soft gentle sounds.

The best Smoothie in Chiang Mai

Oh yes... you read it here, no where in Chiang Mai makes a smoothie like I can with my blender! Its packed with all the good stuff, raw coconut water (from young coconut), goji berries, spirulina, chia seeds (sent from Australia), raw cacao (also sent from Australia) 1 locally grown banana and crushed ice for that frappe texture. Especially perfect in this climate. 30 degrees plus every day.

Are you being Mindful?

April 12, 2012 in Lifestyle, Meditate, Mind, Wellness by

I'm sure its safe to say, that if your on the go, then your mind is too. We tend busy our lives up so that we can get the most out of our lives and fit in everything we think is important to us. We over commit, spread ourselves thin and like a cheap candle of no value to us we burn it at both ends.

Paleo vs Raw

This appears to be the question on every bodies lips. Well those that have any clue about health and nutrition. Some people may be stuck in the late 90’s knowledge of low carb, low fat, artificial sugar, lite this, lite that etc. But if you had half a brain or kept up with food politics and human evolution you would also be aware of the latest and greatest research that now focuses on eating as close to nature as possible.

i miss sand running

If there is one thing I miss about home, besides family and friends. Is the clean crisp fresh morning air and sand between my toes when I go for my morning sand run down at Bondi Beach 3 times per week and of course my sand running buddy Helene :)
