First and foremost, you should learn how to say "no sugar" when ordering, coffee, foods and shakes in Thailand. In Thai you say "mai sai namtan". This is vital, because Thai's love to add sugar and other additives when making food. It seems that WORLD is crazy about Thai food because it tastes so good. The reason being folks...is sugar! Sugar Sux Thailand!!
It's been about 12 hours since I wrote the first article on Sugar Sux. Being here in Asia really is the inspiration for much of the protest as well as ones own struggle to avoid it. While we may be informed that Sugar is legitimate poison it is still being consumed and in places like Asia, it is growing in consumption.
I could not think of more explicit way to describe my attitude towards this debilitating wellness destroying drug! Sugar Sux because it is addictive, more-ish, sends you on a high and crashes you to an all time low,it manipulates your moods, destroys your cells and appears all innocent and harmless. It comes in all colours, textures, shapes and sizes and can also be hidden in salty things to taste more apparently yummy.
Koh Phangan really is the place to come if you want Yoga in Thailand. Koh Phangan is also the "party island", many tourists come here in troves wanting to dance and get messy. But on the upside it also has the perfect counter balance of "Detox Resorts" and "wellness retreats" everywhere.
This appears to be the question on every bodies lips. Well those that have any clue about health and nutrition. Some people may be stuck in the late 90’s knowledge of low carb, low fat, artificial sugar, lite this, lite that etc. But if you had half a brain or kept up with food politics and human evolution you would also be aware of the latest and greatest research that now focuses on eating as close to nature as possible.
